3 Unexpected Ways to Show Your Thanks

The leaves are finally falling here in Sacramento. I broke out my peacoat and I’ve been trying all the new seasonal drinks at Starbucks. It’s safe to say that I have totally embraced the Thanksgiving spirit.

Obviously, Thanksgiving is one of the best times to show your appreciation and yet so few people take advantage of it. So in the spirit of the holiday, I’m going to share with you 3 things that I like to do during this time of year to show my clients how much I truly appreciate them.

  1. Write personal notes to 20 clients that you’ve worked with over the past year. If you don’t have 20 clients, go back to last year and the year before. Write 20 personal notes telling your clients how much you appreciate them.
  2. Drop in on at least 5 clients and I give them a bottle of sparkling cider. I wrap it in cellophane, drop it off at their house or office and pay them a visit.
  3. Take a festive photo of yourself and post a note on Facebook about what you are grateful for. So often social media is an endless stream of generic information. This is an opportunity to reach your audience in a personal and heartfelt way.

Everyone sends cards during Christmas but people are busy during the winter holidays and they are already getting tons of cards. Most people aren’t expecting a card or pop by during Thanksgiving so… be a little unexpected this year!
