3 Easy Tips For Efficient Time Management

What is the best method of time management?

Being good at time management takes practice. You have to make it a habit. It’s common belief that habits are formed in 21 days. But according to recent research, it actually takes about 66 days to form a habit.

Regardless of how long it takes, if you want to be more productive you have to have a system in place, you have to make it a routine and you have to execute. With a little bit of practice, you should find a time management style that works for you.

The method that works the best for me is planning the month, scheduling the week and prioritizing the day.

Plan the month

Take out a calendar and look at it. Block out the things you know you have going on for the month. Do this for the entire month.

Schedule the week

Each Sunday, take a moment to ask yourself, “What does my week look like?” What are the things you need to do or already have planned? Go through each day and write in each meeting, event, and activity.

Prioritize the day

Figure out what the most important things that need to be done. Do this the night before your work day. List and prioritize the items into A, B and C items. A items are the things that you have to do: prospecting, showing homes, listing property). B and C items are everything else (paperwork, chatting with colleagues).

In short, everything you do should revolve around listing, selling, and prospecting.

Additionally, if you haven’t done the 30 Day Challenge (what the heck are you doing with your life?), I recommend you check it out. Each day there is a different prospecting challenge to help you generate more business. On the bonus day, I provide a Goal Sheet to help you stay accountable to the things that actually matter. Use the Goal Sheet as a guide to help you better manage and prioritize each day.

Good luck!
